Assault Android Cactus: (no-Powerups) Aubergine vs. (VPC4) Filament S+
Assault Android Cactus+ (PC(W,M,L)/Steam)
Version 190430s (2019 Apr 30)
Campaign
Stage 1-3: Filament
4P Virtual Player Count
& no Powerups
S+ run using Aubergine
So... for various reasons, I've been thinking recently about the first video I ever posted (Aubergine vs. Filament). Also, while looking through some of my old videos, I happened to notice that my first ever Accelerate-only VPC4 video was posted slightly over three years ago. Which got me thinking...
Although I don't think I've previously uploaded any to this channel, a no-Powerups run is something I've definitely done before (quite a while back I actually completed no-Powerups S+ runs vs. Embryo with all eight characters (then later with the ninth character, once she was added to the game)... partly for testing purposes and partly because I was curious to see if it could be done)...
However, something I definitely haven't tried before is a no-Powerups VPC4 run. =)
No-Powerups VPC4 is something I've thought about from time to time... but honestly, most of the levels seem like they'd be... umm, quite difficult with both the extra-crowded conditions of VPC4 and a no-Powerups restriction. ^^;
But thinking about Filament recently... Filament seemed like it might actually be possible! So I thought I'd give it a try...
My first run (test run!) went... about as well as one might expect, going in with no plan. =) The powerups dropped in inconvenient locations, limiting Aubergine's mobility... and that limited mobility eventually ended the run. ^^;
I did, however, realize I should probably intentionally cause the powerup drops somewhere where they wouldn't get in the way... so for my second run, I tried to get them to drop in the upper left area. =) But unfortunately, I sent Aubergine a bit too far into the upper left corner, and after the lights went out, the third powerup drop... kind of blocked the path I was planning to use to get her to safety, and... =p
So for my third run, I made the appropriate adjustments to the opening strategy, and... this run happened. And despite one or two close calls... I ended up with my first ever no-Powerups VPC4 S+! ^_^
So anyway, here's the video... hope you enjoy!
