Assault Android Cactus (PC/Steam)
Early Access Version 141113 (2014 Nov 13)

Stage 5-2: Control (10.0)
S+ run using Peanut

Update 10 is out! =)

So, the bug on Control (5-2) that prevented Peanut from making properly effective use of the Plasma Field node got fixed in Update 10... so I decided to give it a try.

Also, it looks like the Plasma Field node's visuals got updated since the last time I posted a Control video (so probably during Update 9 or 8), adding in more pronounced electricity effects (probably to make it more similar to Coral's Plasma Field). I think I might prefer how it was before, because the new effects sometimes make it harder to see what's going on (like rocket markers appearing on the ground!), especially when the Plasma Field is attacking several enemies at once. Though on the plus side, it does look nicer, and it's easier to tell which enemies are being actively damaged by the field. =)

Based on what I've seen so far, Peanut seems to be a pretty good character for Control (though probably not as strong as Aubergine). The Magma Welder works well enough by itself that the Drill Lance can be saved to take out specific dangerous enemies (like the giant rocket dogs), or to quickly zoom out of harm's way.

Anyway, here's my best Peanut vs. Control S+ so far. And if anybody's interested in the slightly redesigned win screen that Update 10 introduces, you can see that as well. =)

Oh, and if anybody's interested in something kind of random I noticed... at around 2:14, one of the energy crystals goes flying towards the lower left for no apparent reason. Taking a closer look, I think maybe one of the Firepower drones randomly batted the crystal away from Peanut... or something. =)
