So... I've been working on my Cadence HCM (Hardcore Mode) Speedruns. I've been trying to beat 8 minutes ("Speed Demon" Achievement), and while I've gradually been getting closer (I've gotten around halfway through Zone 3 (within 8 minutes) a couple of times), I haven't quite managed it... yet. =)
Anyway, during one of my otherwise less-memorable runs (no trapdoors or decent weapons, early in the run)... I actually encountered a Green Bat! And defeated it! With a dagger! =)
The Green Bat, from what I understand, is the rarest enemy in the game. I've heard it only has a 0.25% chance of appearing on a run (i.e. on average, once every 400 runs), but I don't know if that's the actual number. In any case, it's pretty rare. I've only encountered one so far.
From what I can tell, the Green Bat's behavior is basically like a Red Bat's... except that the Green Bat can move diagonally. The Beastmaster (enemy training area in the Lobby) lists the Green Bat as a Zone 1 enemy, but I've heard reports of it appearing in Zone 2 as well, so where it appears might be completely random.
Anyway, since I was recording at the time, I decided to upload the video (despite the somewhat embarrassingly careless death at the end), in case anybody else was curious about the Green Bat. Enjoy!
The Green Bat was encountered (Zone 1, Level 2) at around: 1:41
The Zone 1 mini-bosses and boss I encountered during this run were:
- Green Dragon, Gray Minotaur, Red Dragon, and King Conga 1.
The Zone 2 mini-bosses I encountered during this run were:
- Gray Direbat and Blood Nightmare.
