Assault Android Cactus (PC/Steam)
Early Access Version 140522 (2014 May 22)

Stage 1-5: Embryo
S+ run using Shiitake

New strategy (bbb, instead of rrb), faster time, and a better score! =)

I found out from Sylaris that it's possible with Shiitake (and apparently with Coral, as well) to finish Phase 1 fast enough to get a Blue Powerup, instead of the Red one you normally get when you finish Phase 1 really quickly... so I started wondering if it would be possible to get all Blue (bbb). It took me a while to figure out a way to do it, but it is possible!

Tech notes (on what I did during this run), for anybody who's interested:

Phase 1:
- Immediately switch to mines, and start dropping drop 5 mines. While doing this, curve around Embryo, so that you'll be closer to the power crystals (white) that he drops.
- Once you've dropped 5 mines, instead of letting Shiitake automatically switch back to the Railgun, switch back manually yourself, right after she drops the 5th mine. This will save a tiny amount of time, but that tiny amount will allow you to finish Phase 1 just fast enough to get Blue instead of Red.
- Position yourself near where the power crystals (white) drop. If the power crystals don't have to travel far to get to you, you'll be able to Power Up the Railgun to Level 2 before you take your first shot.
- Shoot Embryo 3 times, which should finish off Phase 1, and give you your first Blue.

Phase 2:
- Delay a bit (to give the mines a little extra time to recharge), then switch to mines and grab the Blue Powerup, timed like I did in this video, so that the first mine detonates right after Embryo enters Shutdown.
- Drop 4 mines. Immediately after dropping the 4th one, manually switch back to the Railgun.
- Shoot Embryo once, which should finish off the Phase.

Phase 3:
- When your mines are almost completely recharged (see the meter at Shiitake's feet in the video), drop 5 mines.
- Like in Phase 1, immediately after dropping the 5th mine, manually switch to the Railgun.
- Shoot Embryo 3 times (your Railgun should Power Up to Level 3 between the first and second shots), which should finish off Phase 3, and give you your second Blue.

Phase 4:
- (same as Phase 2)

Phase 5:
* Positioning note: I like to get Embryo to move towards the bottom of the screen, because I think the camera angle makes it easier to see what's going on (and dodge appropriately). Which is why I start this Phase to the left of Embryo (that causes him to move down).
- After he lands, and as soon as he's no longer invulnerable, shoot Embryo once with the Railgun, then immediately switch to mines (and start dropping them).
- Use the limited invulnerability the weapon swap gives you to get more or less in front of Embryo's path (if you're directly in front, you'll get hit by his bullets, so you'll want to be slightly angled to the side). (Note: I didn't do it quite right in this run, but as long as you don't lose all of your health, you're fine.)
- Immediately after you've dropped the 4th mine, manually switch back to the Railgun.
- Shoot Embryo 3 times, which should finish off Phase 5, and give you your third Blue.

Phase 6:
- (same as Phases 2 and 4, except you should start immediately, instead of delaying a bit)
- Immediately after you fire the third shot at the end of Phase 5, switch to mines and rush towards the Blue Powerup.
- Drop 4 mines, and, as usual, immediately after dropping the 4th one, manually switch back to the Railgun.
- Shoot Embryo once, which should finish off Embryo.

And that's it!
