Welcome back everybody! To Let's play #ASTRONEER gameplay, part 9. Last time we landed on a Arid planet and this time we need to make a proper base! However as we have already learned each planet in ASTRONEER is a bit different. Arid for example have a very limited use of solar panels and wind turbine should be the way to go but for some unknown to me reason even tho the arid planet is always windy the wind turbines does not always works. There is one solution to our power problems and that is batteries. Large amount of batteries can store big amounts of power for us to construct the base and even maybe set up the trade platforms for more supply however transporting lithium to make batteries from the home planet main base is a bit long so we have to find lithium on the Arid planet. Lucky for us in ASTRONEER the Arid planets are the one with naturally spawning lithium that we can mine! But since lithium is an advance resource in ASTRONEER we need to have a drill, to make a drill we need to have a printer and the possibility to attach it to a vehicle with a crane. The space ship is not an option here and we don’t have an way to transport a vehicle from the main base as the space ships in ASTRONEER are very limited in terms of what they can transport between planets. We need to make vehicles on the arid planet. The Space ship will come in handy once again as in ASTRONEER it is the biggest ship right now. After transporting resources for construction we began digging out a cave for the vehicle hangar! The Hangar will come with vehicle construction module along with a printer to make any additional equipment and a big amount of docking stations for the vehicles to regenerate. We also make a battery room so we can store large amounts of energy as soon as the sun will power up the solar panel we have build in the previous episode of ASTRONEER on the surface of the arid planet. The mining itself is easy but sometimes tricky we need to pay big attention to how the modules will respond to our orders to expand. The ground needs to be flat before that happens – remember in ASTRONEER as of today there is no destroy option so once you build something, there is no way of removing that structure expect for force closing ASTRONEER. If you want to build a underground base it will be easier to mine out a large cave, flat it with the terraforming tool and then pull the modules from the habitat or the space ship or construct a new habitat in the hangar and pull the modules from there. Remember tho the Arid planet is very limited in resin and we will need large amounts of that resources as resin is in ASTRONEER needed to expand the module section of the base and prepare new platforms for modifications. After setting up the hangar and making the roof its time to start building the vehicles. You may want to make a ramp for the trucks to leave the hangar, with the truck set we can build a crane at the vehicle assembly machine and then make a seat and a drill at the printer to later attaching to the truck. A wind turbine should also be a good idea as the wind will sometime blow around the truck giving it a little bit of power just in case we will go too far away from the base. Right now I don’t know how the base will behave if I try to make a truck train so we shall stick for now to the single vehicle operations.
