The Impulse 4G on AT&T from Huawei is an entry level Smartphone coming to the network. Priced at $29.99, the Impulse is started as an entry level android device. At first glance it doesn't look the case, Huawei has crafted a nice looking device, with a 3.8" touchscreen with resolution 480x800, with chrome finishing around the edges, touch sensitive button in the front with volume toggles on the left hand side of the device. A 5MP camera that records at 720p, with 2GB of storage via microSD; all running with stock Android 2.2 software.

The 5Mp camera on the Impulse 4G records at 720p, but don't expect miracles. The video quality is decent and will work for uploads to YouTube or Facebook. The still quality of the camera is good and suffices to take decent pictures.

For connections you have Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and HSPA+ 4G data speeds on AT&T's network. The 800 Mhz processor the Impulse 4G runs is smooth enough for basic task but will lag when you have apps running in the background. Battery life with the 1500 mAh battery is standard for android with moderate users be able to get about 6-8hrs of battery life before needing to charge.

Priced at $29,99 the Impulse 4G works well as an entry Android smartphone, it doesn't pretend to do everything but it does move you into the smartphone world at a well reasoned price that is consumer friend and well placed
