4In which I play "Deathzone", a type-in program from ANALOG Computer Magazine issue 47, written by Steven Hiller. This game is amazing, especially when you contemplate the reality that it was a type-in.
It is heavily "inspired" by Encounter. Once I realized that, I spent a bit of time (in video) looking into the game - first to figure out what the name of the game is that it so reminded me of, and second of all to find the magazine online at archive.org and take a look at the article with the type-in listing and game description.
Sadly, it began crashing on me, but I did have quite a bit of fun playing it.
