Atari game review
The hidden gem, Solaris.

The Atari is a lot stronger than people give it credit for.
Being able to make simple musical tracks and interesting color changes or sprite animations.

But to have a working map, radar, moving backgrounds, homing enemies, hud for HP and Gas, tracking system, and what I had stated above!!

That’s NES levels.

But here it is.
A sorta simple space shooter taking place in an open world like environment.

You play as a spaceship hunting down enemies and tracking down survivors through different worlds and battle grounds.

The use of a map was confusing at first.
Not seeing it before on any Atari game.

But you move your cursor to the location you want to fly to and it sets a way point on your radar.

Following it will lead you into battles and to save the mentioned, stranded individuals on planets.

The copy write says 1986 and the NES came out in 85.

Who ever D.Newbaver is, they were a genius squeezing this much power out of the Atari.

I was so sure this was a hack for the 5200 I went online and confirmed it is indeed a 2600 game.

A collection would be incomplete without Solaris.
