In the early 2000s everyone knew what Pokemon was (they still do to be fair lol) and a bunch of video game companies tried to take advantage of this Pokemon popularity to put their spin on the monster-catching formula that Pokemon popularized. ATLUS is no stranger to this genre since they added a ‘’monster-collecting’’ franchise before Pokemon was even a thing with Shin Megami Tensei. SMT being fairly different from Pokemon, ATLUS decided to attempt Pokemon themselves with a spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei called Demi Kids and… they failed.
