After V gets the flathead and the information from Evelyn Parker, he heads out to The Afterlife to meet up with Jackie and Dex's bodyguard Oleg summons them to the back room where Dex and T-Bug are waiting to go over the heist's details. Dex will begin to ask some questions about Evelyn and eventually direct V to take a shard on the table. Then Dex and T-Bug will continue to fill you in on the plan.

Jackie will bring up how the pay is being split. Dex notes you and Jackie get 30% but you can have him bump it up to 35% if you point out this is about being remembered for something. Further Dex will bump it up to 40% if he is told about Evelyn Parker's desire to cut him out of the deal. After Dex heads off, V talks to T-Bug some more before she also heads out. Jackie will then ask if V’s ready. Once V’s ready, he puts on the suit and gets in the taxi. This is a point of no return until the mission is complete, and Act 2 starts.

After some banter between Delamain and Jackie, the AI will verify V’s identity and then drive to the hotel. On the way, V can talk to Jackie about the job. Once V arrives, follow Jackie and check in. At one point during the convo with the receptionist, V will need to stall her and then, V and Jackie will continue to the hotel's bar.

Once in the room, T-Bug will ask to scan for the entry point for the flathead. Jackie will command it initially but eventually V will be asked to control the flathead since Jackie's not fully upgraded. The flathead fully navigates itself, while V points out which vent to use. In some rooms, V will have to cause diversions to get to the vent without it being seen. When the flathead reaches the area outside the hotel's netrunner and finds a way for the flathead to get inside, T-Bug will get around their security while the game fast forwards to night. At night T-Bug will then note it's time to head out to the elevator, that gives V direct access to the penthouse.

Some unexpected guests arrive by aircraft and as Jackie gets the case, T-Bug warns V that Yorinobu is heading to the penthouse sooner and that V needs to hide fast. V heads behind the TV screen where T-Bug opens the panel allowing V to get in. Yorinobu enters with Adam Smasher before they're unexpectedly joined by his father, Saburo Arasaka and bodyguard, Goro Takemura. After dismissing the two bodyguards, things go awry between son and father and Yorinobu kills Saburo by strangling him to death before initiating a hotel lockdown, claiming someone poisoned his father.

The elevator is out, so T-Bug will direct V instead to the balcony to try and get to a ladder there. However, just as she gets the doors opened, she's killed on her end. V runs to the window T-bug opened before she died. Head out and around and walk across the thin railing here, halfway across hostile forces will spot V and he will have no choice but to jump. After a short dialogue scene, Jackie will plug the Relic into himself to keep it safe while V and him both try to escape the hotel.
V will have to go through a number of areas where there are armed guards. The first elevator V reaches won't be accessible as V needs an access token to do so. As V reaches the second elevator location, V will spot the officer who's carrying it here and V needs to take him out to get the token. Once V has it and accesses the elevator V can talk a bit more to Jackie before reaching the hotels lobby area with more guards and a powerful mech.

Then V takes the elevator here to the cab, which will be under fire, runs and gets in and it take off. Arasaka will pursue you with three drones, and V shoots them down in order to stop their pursuit before time runs out. Jackie's injuries prove to be too severe and after he hands the Relic over to you, he dies. When Delamain asks where V would like to send his remains V can choose from several options: To his family or tell the Delamain to wait which will unlock the side-job Heroes, or to Viktor Vektor: It will later be revealed that Arasaka took the body from Viktor to extract Jackie's engram. The engram can then be encountered either during “The Sun” or "The Star" endings or "The Devil" ending. After V makes his decision, he exits the vehicle to go meet Dex inside the No-Tell Motel.

Dex will be none too pleased with what happened as the offing of the emperor is all over the news. Even if V tells Dex that it wasn't them that did it, Dex will tell you that Arasaka and their ninjas don't know or care about that. He'll eventually agree though that escaping Night City is the best option here before sending you off to go wash the blood off your face. Once you do and leave the bathroom though his bodyguard knocks you down before Dex shoots you in the head.
