Boyd's main issue before his buff is that he was slow and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn without the help of Urvan. Now, he is a little bit faster and has 8 extra hit...so pretty much the same honestly. At the very least, he doesn't get doubled by the 50 Spd crowd now because he got an increase from 46 to 48 Spd. But he still struggles to hit his targets even with the extra 4 Skl. The big thing going for him is that he is quite bulky on the physical side and no many magic unit will be able to kill with a single Flare/Corona because of his high 90 HP. So, aside from the guarantee one-shot masteries like Rend, Lethality, or Luna, he has a pretty good chance to get a hit in against his opponent even if he is attacking second. And with his 66 Str, he will hit extremely hard; he just needs to do the hard part: "Hit". His mastery will pretty much always kill because he has 66 Str and Colossus is multiplied off of Str, so there's no issue there that units like Vika or Volug have because of their lower Str. His low accuracy does affect his chance to proc his mastery as well because often times, he would rather go for the accuracy of Urvan over the Brave Axe's multiple hits since that would be his best chance of hitting and by proxy, proccing Colossus.

The unit with the higher base speed will initiate first. (If unit has Shade or Stillness they will always choose who goes first). If both units have the same speed, the unit whose video it is will go first.

For weapons, the unit who is faster chooses the weapon they want the unit they are attacking gets to choose a weapon to counter them with. The unit who attacks first, goes through all the possible weapon combinations and picks whatever situation would give them the best chance at victory. After the initial turn, the only time a unit can change their weapon is on their turn.
