Reyson is the worst heron in this series and one of the worst units in the series in general. Instead of speccing into the Mag and Res that the other two herons did, he instead wanted to be more like a Hawk like his role-model Tibarn. This means that when he does get the chance to attack, it's not going to be for the same amount of potential damage that the other two herons have. Don't get me wrong, 72 Mag is amazing, but when you consider the fact that he only gets to attack once per turn with a 12 Mt weapon, an 84 Mag attack just isn't going to one-shot as many units as Leanne and Rafiel did with their 85+ Mag. He is also just as slow as the other herons, doesn't have the avoid that Leanne has with her amazing Lck, and doesn't have the no weapon effectiveness that Rafiel has. Putting this all together, and you get the worst heron in ASU. He does have a decent HP and Def stat for some extra bulk compared to the other two, but because he is going second for the most part, pretty much every unit that outspeeds him is able to just take both of their turns to whittle him down as long as they have the HP/Res combo to survive a hit from him. Overall, pretty disappointing for the heron that is widely considered the best in Radiant Dawn.

The unit with the higher base speed will initiate first. (If unit has Shade or Stillness they will always choose who goes first). If both units have the same speed, the unit whose video it is will go first.

For weapons, the unit who is faster chooses the weapon they want the unit they are attacking gets to choose a weapon to counter them with. The unit who attacks first, goes through all the possible weapon combinations and picks whatever situation would give them the best chance at victory. After the initial turn, the only time a unit can change their weapon is on their turn.
