Mia's self-proclaimed rival clad in white is up! Rhys is a victim of how the turn order goes in this series, where the unit with the higher speed gets to initiate first. This is a huge problem for Rhys since he is very slow and has Def made of paper mache. This leaves him very susceptible against the Brave weapons in the series alongside all of the one-shot mastery skills. With the access to Rexaura, he can help negate a lot of two shots with the Brave weapons, which gives him a higher chance of living, but as mentioned before, it won't matter at all if they proc their "I win" skill on him. On the other side of the spectrum, his Res is one of the highest in the series. This gives him a pretty good shot at dealing with many of the other mages in terms of raw damage output. But again, since he is most likely getting doubled and initiated on first by most of them, he will have to weather the storm of potential mastery procs before he can even get a chance to counterattack. He also doesn't have a skill to work with, so he really just has to rely on surviving the onslaught and then proc his own "I win" skill. That skill, Corona, is very much best used when you are being initiated on since it can completely destroy the attacker's hit rates which is very important for Rhys since he often gets one-rounded by pretty much every physical unit. So, Rexaura paired with Corona gives him the best shot at surviving in order to have a chance at a counterattack. The big problem with this is that his proc rate for it is quite terrible being below a quarter of a chance to proc each time.

The unit with the higher base speed will initiate first. (If unit has Shade or Stillness they will always choose who goes first). If both units have the same speed, the unit whose video it is will go first.

For weapons, the unit who is faster chooses the weapon they want the unit they are attacking gets to choose a weapon to counter them with. The unit who attacks first, goes through all the possible weapon combinations and picks whatever situation would give them the best chance at victory. After the initial turn, the only time a unit can change their weapon is on their turn.
