Awaria (Part 1): Neo Goes on a Short Adventure Working Some Maitenance Tunnels

Neo, on his spare time a few years prior, had played a little indie game called "Helltaker", which was made by an indie artist/developer named "vanripper" who apparently wanted to make a puzzle-based harem game featuring demons in business atire because that was essentially his thing. The premise of the game, along with the reasons behind it's creation, was so utterly absurd to Neo that he HAD to check it out, and check it out he did. Long story short, it ended up being one of the most hilarious and enjoyable games he played that year.
Fast forward to the present day, at the time this stream was originally made. One day. Neo was doing some serious multi-tasking between scrolling through his YouTube feed and Olympic-level navel gazing, when he stumbles across the soundtrack of a game that had very recently came out featuring an artstyle that he INSTANTLY recognized.
Neo knew right away that he had to play it, and so here he is, doing just that, with the thought that it'd make for a particularly fun title to cover. Good enough reason as any, really.
Will Awaria end up being a worthy follow-up to Helltaker in Neo's eyes, or will it end up failing to capture lightning in a bottle for the second time?
SPOILERS:
Short answer is yes, it absolutely does! In fact, he ended up enjoying it so much that once he completed the game on normal mode he decided to try his luck on hard mode so he can see all the extra unlockables the game has to offer. Unfortunately, he couldn't get past the final boss before he had to cut the stream off. So, Neo swears to try and finish what he started in a future stream, all the while giving Awaria a thumbs up and nominating it as game of the year for 2024!
