Higurashi Console Arcs (Pt 70): As the Battle Against Takano Begins, Neo Unites the Village
2[BLIND LET'S PLAY]
With Rika having "vanished" thanks to Keiichi and the others, Takano and the Mountain Dogs are temporarily thrown for a loop as to what to do while Rika and her allies begin making moves against their enemy. However, Takano and the Mountain Dogs are quick to catch on to what's going on and mobilize, putting Neo and everyone on defense while trying to adapt to the Mountain Dogs' tactics as best they can.
Meanwhile, Ooshi manages to meet up with Tomoe Minai, who shows up to give Ooshi evidence of Takano having faked her death and giving them what he needs to arrest Takano, all the while trying to keep Shion from being taken away by officials who're under Tokyo's payroll.
Later, the Mountain Dogs seize control of the Irie Clinic while Rika and Satako are still inside, forcing Rika to flee while Satako stays behind to try and divert attention away from Rika. Rika manages to make it to the Sonozaki compound, where everyone else is holding a meeting on how to tackle the threat the Mountain Dogs are posing to the entire village.
Rika pleads with the village elders to help her rescue Satoko and stand against the Mountain Dogs, but Akane Sonozaki voices her opposition to this, declaring that Rika and her friends are only thinking of their own selfish desires as they ask the villagers to gamble with their lives against an enemy that wouldn't hesitate to kill them. Eventually, Mion steps in and is forced to stand up to Akane in order to try and win the village over to their side.
While Mion ultimately succeeds, everyone knows that the battle against Takano has only just begun, one that will take everything that they have if they want to have any hope of living to see tomorrow...
