AWESOME NEW QUEST 2 GAME IS PIXEL PERFECT // Doom VR & Alien Trilogy vibes!
815One of the very first FPS games I remember playing is Alien Trilogy, a fantastic game for the PS1 that let me blast xenomorphs & face huggers to pieces from the comfort of my own home. This is SHOCK TROOPS, a new Quest 2 game that captures the feeling of that classic (as well as other "boomer shooter" classics like Doom & Wolfenstein) to create a fresh feeling new VR experience with a throw back sprite / pixel art style. For this video I really wanted to capture some gameplay from the later levels which are clearly VERY inspired by the Alien franchise and perhaps Alien Trilogy as well; egg sacs, face hugger style creatures and full blown xenomorph clones fill these spooky sections. However the game overrode my progress and I couldn't hop back to those levels without clearing everything else all over again (very sad times) but I assure you everything goes very ALIEN in the latter half of the game.

If I had to change anything I'd love some harder difficulties with more enemies & a few of the levels are a little slow paced (the train & elevator sections), however for £7.99 Shock Troops VR is still an absolute bargain and a must buy for any boomer shooter fan or those looking for a retro VR shooter akin to the DOOM VR or Wolfenstein VR ports by Dr Beef. All Shock Troops VR gameplay captured for this video was recorded natively on Quest 2 using the new Quest 2 capture tools that have started rolling out on the PTC.
