I literally know nothing about Runescape except for the nature of this music and boss fight, and I'll be damned if it isn't a genius idea. The enemy you're fighting while this theme plays is literally an embodiment of the feeling of inadequacy itself. It has an absurdly high level, a fearsome appearance, and it's designed to overall make its victim feel like it can't win. The music itself fits this concept to a T; it's slow, somber and it overall makes you wonder "Can I win? Am I strong enough?"
