This is Axelay for the Super Nintendo, played by me on Easy mode. Once again, this was played using the real system and cartridge, but it was recorded onto a Betamax tape first, then to my PC. I think I *finally* figured out the settings that I need to use in order to get the best picture quality with the least amount of lag/off-sync issues.

Axelay flat-out rocks. Everything about this game is excellent--the graphics, the sound, and most importantly, the gameplay. The graphics have plenty of color, detail, and special effects; the music is great and suits each stage well; the sound effects actually sound good on the real system (contrary to what you'd hear through an emulator), and there's very little slowdown.

The gameplay mechanics are very simple. Select your 3 weapons before each stage, then start shooting! You can switch between your 3 weapons at any time, though getting hit causes you to loose whatever weapon you were using at that time. There are no powerups (your weapons are pretty well balanced), nor do you have the ability to change your speed (the speed seems to be perfect anyway). This is one of the harder shooters from my experience, which is why I played on Easy mode.

If you're an avid Super Nintendo gamer and/or you're a fan of shoot 'em ups, you owe it to yourself to play this game.
