CHALLENGE TIME!

I play the Azu-Beach co-op main mode using Chiyo-chan. The challenge? I'm my own team, with no help from the second player, hence why it's a solo run. It's kinda tricky playing Beach Volleyball with no partner. :P

I picked Chiyo-chan for the run for a couple of reasons. First, even though she is the weakest in terms of strength and ability, she has the greatest horizontal hit box since she's with her dog. And with this type of run, you definitely need as much horizontal cover as you can. So hey, it might not "technically" be a solo-run, but if it wasn't for her dog, she would be a severely handicapped player. Plus, when I'm referring to solo, I'm inferring that it's only one player actually playing. Moving along, the second reason is for bragging rights. Chiyo-chan is 5 years younger than the rest of the characters (excluding Chiyo-Father Cat). So to say that a 10-year-old single-handedly beat teams with much older (and supposedly superior) characters... I say that it rightfully earns some bragging rights!

The "unhelpful" partner I chose was Osaka. She's known to randomly space out anyway, so the part suited her! Never in the game does she actually "hit" the ball. I discovered this glitch in the game when hit at a certain time, you can actually "steal" the ball away from the server while she's about to serve. It's pretty funny how something like that was left in the game. It freaks the AI out so much since the game thinks I served, yet the ball is all the way out on my side, so the CPU go as close to my side as they possibly can to try and get the ball. This leaves their back end completely vulnerable and it makes for an easy score (Now don't take that the wrong way :P).

The first level is easy, even when by yourself. The CPU hardly ever hits the ball back to you, especially if you spike. Kinda pathetic if you ask me... However, I was surprised when they did not one, but two W-Attacks back at me! What the hell? Lucky shots...

The second level is where it can get kinda tricky, but it's still relatively easy. Most of the time the CPU will hit the ball back, unless you do a power spike. But, they also start to block, so you have to be really careful since you have no recovery if that happens. You have no choice to spike the ball if you want to get past this point in the game.

The third level is what I think is the hardest part of the game. The strategy here is to know when to try and reciprocate the ball with a spike, or just predict where the CPU will hit the ball. Simple blocking will not do, especially with Chiyo-chan, since she has the weakest vertical jump distance of any character. That and since you cannot block W-Attacks where the CPU does it more frequently now. A lot of it does come down to luck, but you need fast reflexes too. The CPU is most vulnerable when they are both in the front. So, that's the time to reciprocate the ball with a spike.

The final level, although it's pretty difficult, it's not the hardest in my opinion. The CPU use the strongest characters, but they are "floaty," and they take the greatest amount of time to recover. And you have to use that as your advantage. And it seems to me that the AI doesn't handle as well with those characters, even though they are supposedly on the hardest difficulty. If you reciprocate their "power serve", most likely they won't be able to recover it. If you can get through the previous level, you can get through this level.

And lastly, I replaced the original game music with a theme from the anime called, "Chiyo-chan Hashiru!" I think the theme fits this run perfectly.

Thanks for watching! ;)
