Wow, 50 sessions down. Doesn't really feel like it was that long ago when I started this little side-series. Granted, it's really only easy to tell because I've been sticking to a single numbering system from the very beginning. But I guess the fact that I always essentially aimed to do at least two sessions per week meant that hitting this milestone was going to happen sooner rather than later. Either way, I don't expect to keep up this kind of pace once I'm done with the Trails in the Sky trilogy. Honestly, I don't even have any more requests lined up at the moment.

Sorry that I didn't go for a punnier approach for this episode's title. The problem is, it was just too perfect. Not only did I have to tackle the golden and silver roads in Phase 3 of Phantasma this time, but pretty much all of the major story beats in this recording revolved around friendships of some time. It didn't really help that I couldn't think up any rhymes to replace any of the words in the saying that were also thematically appropriate.

Having said that, I'm still in shock that I managed to go beyond the three-peat this time around. And I clinched it so early this time around: I wasn't even 90 minutes into the recording when the achievement popped on my end. I have somehow managed to finish four entire chapters -- from the prologue all the way to the third chapter -- in a single stream apiece. Like, I know that The 3rd was supposed to be shorter than the first two... but this just feels implausible at this point. I'm just wondering how much longer I'll be able to keep up this pace at this rate. I honestly assumed I was done after last time. Frankly, I think I might almost be relieved the first time I wrap up a Trails in the Sky the 3rd session *without* finishing a chapter at this point. Things are just going too swimmingly for me to not get a little nervous.

I tried to discuss what I perceive as my good friend Dariwan's apprehension towards the Trails series this time around... but I ended up getting distracted the entire time. And doing another Moon Door effectively killed any chance of me retaining enough of my attention span to get back to it. I have been meaning to discuss this for awhile now... so I'll probably try again in the next recording. The fact that I feel the need to justify one of my favorite running jokes should tell you just how passionate I am about such an endeavor.

Having said that, I am a bit curious about the events of that Moon Door I managed to get through this time around. The new characters that were given portraits confuse me, given the fact that they were only particularly important in the confines of the side story itself. Granted, they gave Tita's dad a portrait as well -- I'm not counting her mom, since she actually appeared in the main story. But Lechter seemed to be the only one who really justified such an addition. Makes me wonder if I'll see Leo and Lucy in future games in the Trails series...
