Well, this was certainly a stream. I made a serious miscalculation when I assumed that this would be a simple session with no issues. I figured I could get away with playing it on a worknight. Granted, waking up for work the following morning wasn't quite as rough as I feared... but I'm still kind of irritated by the timesink I suffered during this session. Just knowing I could've knocked off 45 minutes or so off if not for one annoying segment still ticks me off long after the fact.

And to think, the stream started out so promisingly. Chapter 9 was pretty smooth, despite taking place in that damned church again. I only really needed to look up two solutions... and one of them just ended up being me forgetting exactly how the Trappers worked. The penny working as a fuse, on the other hand, felt like a bit of a copout, to be completely honest with you.

Then I got to the game's first boss fight. And Jesus Christ almighty, it quickly turned into an endless slog, propped up by the fact that it takes exact timing to damage the boss. I literally looked up a YouTube video and had to consult two totally different walkthroughs to figure out what I was doing wrong, given the fact that the first phase went so swimmingly. Then I ended up botching it and dying on the third (and final) phase, likely due to the fact that wasting close to an hour on the second form had likely drained my mental stamina. Doing the boss fight properly the second time took significantly less time.

Fortunately, Dari assured me that Chapter 10 was short. And while he was right about that, it was still probably ill-advised for me to do another one after the grueling ordeal I'd just gone through. Still, I want to finish this game in my next stream... and the only way I'm going to be able to do that would be keeping a pace of two chapters per stream. Edward's low health was kind of annoying, but given his high sanity and magic, he was essentially more of a glass cannon. The elephant gun might actually be the only long-ranged weapon that's actually worth a damn, too. Still, completing his section took me way more effort than I'd have expected. But I guess compared to most of the previous chapters, Edward's felt like it had the least amount of filler... which I appreciated, all things considered. From what I've heard, Alex's segment is just going to be Chapter 12... so I'm curious as for what further revelations Chapter 11 will bring, considering how Chapter 10 seemed to clarify everything up to this point.
