In this chapter, our heroes finally take the battle to Dragonspear Castle itself. After a one-on-one combat between David and Ashatiel, the commander of Caelar's forces, results in the former's defeat, the crusaders give up, and the Flaming Fist scour the premises for Caelar and her advisors - eventually finding her in the basement, where she and Hephernaan are just about to open the portal to the Nine Hells. However, Caelar is betrayed by her trusted advisor, who is revealed to have actually used her for his own scheme - bring back the demon Belhifet. Now the party of David has to enter the fiery realm of Avernus, tackle its hordes of devils, convert Caelar back to the light, and foil Hephernaan's and Belhifet's plans of world domination.
