In this chapter, Lee and Kenny's group make it to Savannah, where they are immediately stalked by local walkers and have to retreat into one of the many abandoned houses - whose only occupant, much to Kenny's horror, looks a lot like Duck could have looked. After performing the last rites for the boy, Lee and Kenny set out to look for boats, but find that all of them have either been taken or wrecked. Soon afterwards, they come across one of Savannah's survivors, a young girl named Molly, who tells them the story of Crawford, an isolated dog-eat-dog community that has barricaded itself from the outside world and imposed harsh regulations on all its members - a story interrupted by a new wave of walkers, which separates Lee from the rest of the group as he is forced to flee into the city sewers.
