Balls and Protractors Part 1, Episode 26 of Journey Into Space
8There has been a mix-up at the Dodd Rocket Design Bureau, I ordered a Duna rocket, they gave me a Mun rocket! There's nothing for it, we paid them in advance, the buggers.
Still, they're working out of a U-Haul trailer in Hoboken, eating out of vending machines, sleeping on the shop floor among the metal shavings and bumming smokes off day laborers on the streets, I guess we gotta cut them some slack.
Now we have to fly a Mun rocket to Duna and try to get it back too, using a gravity slingshot maneuver and the Oberth effect and some other space navigation hijinks with weird scientific names. Jebediah doesn't like those names, so he is just calling them the "gravity rubber band thing" and the "Burn Faster" maneuver.
A great astronaut, that Jeb. Brave, with sharp eyes and quick reflexes. None too bright though.
I had to cut down the resolution of the videos some, the videos were taking 24 hours to render and more, so you might notice some small downgrade in visual quality. I had no choice, I couldn't tie up my computer for a whole day at a time.
I just found out that Journey Into Space was the name of a 1950's BBC Science Fiction radio show! Thanks to rabasiticamphibian for the info!
