There comes a time when you have to move forward from space exploration to space colonization. To make the giant evolutionary leap from visiting space to living in space. Of course, a few unlucky Kerbals have been living in space for decades, but we want to extend that experience to more and more Kerbals! Because we want to cut through the pith of the Fermi Paradox and place the Kerbals in the forefront of spacefaring civilizations in the galaxy. To colonize the stars, drink Tang made from your own recycled pee and eat highly compressed foods supplemented by delicious cultured cyanobacteria from your life support system bioreactor, this is the destiny of Kerbalkind!

The first step on this long arduous trek is to launch a hopelessly oversized rover on a completely untested rocket, and somehow land it delicately on the very bumpy surface of Ike so it can prospect a site for our first interplanetary colony. The colony needs to be situated on ground that is both relatively flat (to land spaceships on) and which has kethane (to refuel spaceships with).

There is a free demo, download that shit.

If you don't have Kerbal Space Program yet, what in Spock's name are you waiting for? The Mayan/Alien/Global-Melting/Zombie/Pandemic-y/Asteroid-Impacty/Volcanic/Mega-tsunami/Robotic/Nanotech/Thermo-Newkewlar Apocalypse? Get it soon!

Oops, my list of possible apocalypses is not yet complete! I need to add Vacuum Decay, the most bad-assed apocalypse of them all! Long story short, it is a theoretical event that could spread absolute and total destruction across the entire Universe at the speed of light. ;) Makes mere Earthly apocalypses appear quaint. ;)

A choice quote:
"The possibility that we are living in a false vacuum has never been a cheering one to contemplate. Vacuum decay is the ultimate ecological catastrophe; in the new vacuum there are new constants of nature; after vacuum decay, not only is life as we know it impossible, so is chemistry as we know it. However, one could always draw stoic comfort from the possibility that perhaps in the course of time the new vacuum would sustain, if not life as we know it, at least some structures capable of knowing joy. This possibility has now been eliminated."

-Sidney Coleman & F. de Luccia

Pleasant dreams children. ;)

Now stop thinking about Vacuum Decay, and play a game instead. A game like KSP, yes! Buy it now, make Baby Jesus happy. ;)
