Bandai Golf: Challenge Pebble Beach (NES) Playthrough
A playthrough of Bandai's 1989 golf game for the NES, Bandai Golf: Challenge Pebble Beach.
The US-exclusive, TOSE-developed Bandai Golf: Challenge Pebble Beach is a game that's difficult to talk about because there really isn't much to say about it. It's a solid way to play a round of golf on the NES, but it does little to distinguish itself from any other 8-bit golf game of its time.
It's the only NES golf cart based entirely around a real-life course, and it looks and plays a lot like Nintendo's Golf (https://youtu.be/K93xjNrh9Xw) but with the view oriented horizontally rather than vertically. The three-click swing system is easy to use, and the music is pleasantly low-key and wouldn't feel out of place in a fishing game.
It's hardly what you would call an aspirational effort, but it plays well enough to make it worth checking out if you like NES golf games.
