Some of the original creators of Banjo Kazooie and Tooie, including Grant Kirkhope(composer) and Steven Hurst(artist) would like to do a "Spiritual Sequel" to Banjo Tooie.
Spiritual sequel?:
-Perfect Dark was a spiritual sequel to Goldeneye... So it wouldn't be a Banjo Kazooie game. Microsoft owns rights to Banjo series. And these people aren't working at Rare anymore.
"It would be something new, that shares that same kind of humour, silly characters, fun game play, great tunes and all that stuff."
