Barbarian Ps2 Gameplay ( Titus / Avalon Interactive ) Quest Mode - Playsation 2
In this video i test out a strange take on a fighting game by Avalon Interactive called Barbarian.
Choosing quest mode i was given a short story based upon the character i chose named Stitch. From there i was placed into an arena which can be compared to the likes of Power Stone on the Dreamcast console, fighting inside a 3d like arena.
Upon gathering my bearings i quickly realised this game was far from forgiving, and struggled many times to defeat the first enemy. Once i finally finished him off i was given more storyline and then choices as to who i wanted to battle against next, in some kind of effort of creating an adventure type storyline.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) on round 2 i seemed to glitch the game and make the enemy dissapear, forcing me to abandon the fight.
Upon restarting i chose a few other paths, leading to more extremely difficult fights, trying to decide if i liked the game, or if i was just determined not to be defeated. Finally the answer became apparent when i chose to quit the whole game and play something else.
Will i be returning to Barbarian? ... to be honest im not sure. The game could of been really addictive if it wasnt so difficult in such early levels. I know i could set the difficulty lower, but to me a game should be played out of the box, as thats the way its developed.
