Barbarians AGAIN?! Serving-Up Leftover Villains π°π GM 911
We offer up more advice to another fellow gamer on how to handle recurring villains in his game. In this case we are talking abot a barbarian tribe that serves a white dragon in the forgotten realms campaign setting. Recurring villains make awesome NPC characters for your players to interact with.

I have a GM911 for you. I am running an adventure loosely based on the 4e Monster Vault - Threats to the Nentir Vale. In the game the players and the Goliaths just defeated the barbarians in a crazy-long-and-boring battle. The barbarians escaped with the help of a white dragon covering their run.
Having suffered great loss (going from 28 to 11 men), my question would be, how should I re-integrate the barbarians in the rest of the campaign?
I would like to avoid another direct battle with more than 20/30 warriors on the battlefield. I would also like to avoid having the barbarians just go away and not playing a role in the rest of the adventure.
I think I could have a member of the barbarians meeting the PC and offering them a way to defeat his defeated leader. Maybe the barbarians could regroup around the dragon.
Also, the Goliaths were four times as numerous before the war, maybe they are just tired of fighting them, and will only fight against the dragon, forcing them towards peace with the barbarians.
So basically, how would you reintegrate a defeated band of barbarians into a campaign that is now aiming towards killing the white dragon?
