The Barrier Statues (Barrier Statue of the Abyss, Barrier Statue of the Drought, Barrier Statue of the Heavens, Barrier Statue of the Inferno, Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds, Barrier Statue of the Torrent) were a series of floodgates released in 2006's set Cyberdark Impact, which were 6 monsters that all had the same effect, where while the card was on the field, neither player could special summon monsters except for the monster of its attribute. On release these cards were seen as kind of bad, because they only had 1000 attack and defense, so you could easily just normal summon pretty much any meta-monster to beat over it in battle, and then special summon during the main phase 2.
