TIP: You can adjust settings by going to the top left and select File and go to the bottom and select Settings, and then either Program or Movie. Those 2 have options for how many editing tracks you want, how often to backup your project save, how many undo steps you want, etc....

When you are done editing and want to make a video go to File then Export and go the bottom and select Mpeg-4. The only adjustment you will likely have to make is 1280x720 or 1920x1280, etc.. Be sure to check the video properties and see if the file is 1280x720 or what and save exactly as it is, otherwise your video will maybe be stretched out or worse quality. To see a clips Properties select the clip in the timeline, right click, select Properties and you will see the size, frame rate, resolution, and aspect ratio. Aspect is now typically 16:9 as in widescreen, 4:3 is box screen, etc.. Don't worry much when you drag a clip in it will ask if you want to adjust to movie settings to the clip. Just be sure when done you are not saving it differently, and or from a prior project setting when exporting as Mpeg-4 or WMV.

I literally just did that mistake a week ago and saved 720x480 instead of 1280x720 so the video didn't look great and had bars on the side. The original clip was 1280x720 not 720x480 so I shrunk it during Export video saving creation and so it looked bad and was of a lesser quality.

You can Export/save also as WMV instead of Mpeg-4 and get the same quality. You can save Gif images as well and just Export audio alone as MP3 or MP4 audio files.
