I've been playing World of Warcraft since early 2006, so it's been a part of my life for quite a while. I've decided to make an on-and-off Let's Play of the game, doing one zone at a time to experience the lore and the many stories of this huge MMORPG!
Desolace is the homeland of the Centaurs. It's where they first came from, and thus it is their sacred land, with the huge caverns of Maraudon being the most sacred place of all. But the different Centaur tribes are not on the best terms with eachother and fight amongst themselves. The Horde and the Alliance have been squabbling over Desolace for quite some time, but not for any resources, as they are very scarce in this gray, dusty desert, but rather for the tactical advantage of controll over the area. The whole zone is also littered with old Night Elf ruins, as this used to be part of their ancient empire, but has been long abandoned by them. The druidic Cenarion Circle has also taken an interest in Desolace and has begun an effort to make it a more lush zone. But there is also a strong demon presence here, such as the Burning Blade cult, Satyrs and other various demons. And now, the Naga are attacking the coastline in search of something... There really is a lot of work to do here!
