In this video I am playing the Call Sign Eagle level in Battalion Wars almost fully as the grunts on the ground, only giving commands to the air units but not taking direct control of them. Suprisingly, it actually works pretty well, though your grunts cannot do much and you have to wait for your bombers and gunships to destroy hard enemy targets, and wait for fighters and the strato destroyer to eliminate enemy fighters and strato destroyers. Especially at the end of the mission you cannot do much besides wait for the enemies to die.



Normally, in Call Sign Eagle you cannot control the ground troops. This is because a script sets the troops to Inactive when the level starts.

By decompiling the "level_Omaha" script from C3_DomesticBlitz_Level.res, removing the line of code that sets the troops to inactive, recompiling it with Lua 5.0.2 and putting the compiled script back into the resource file, the grunts are no longer set to be inactive and can be controlled.
