I modify this 10 LED string of battery operated Christmas lights that belong to my roommate who was complaining about the batteries running flat every other day.

I simply added in a current limiting resistor (68 Ohms) to the switched side of the circuit to make it use less current which results in dimmer LED but will conserve the battery life.

This set of LEDs were purchased from Family Dollar in the US as part of a small Christmas tree and this modification will save you money in batteries.

This modification can be done with other battery operated strings of LED lights as well or even main operated ones but BE CAREFUL if you go to modify main powered LED light strings.. Respect electricity and it will server you well.
