"Battle Cross", released exclusively in Japan in 1994 by Imagineer, is a top-down futuristic racer. Since it's only available in japanese, I couldn't follow the story, but that's probably ok.
Tracks are picked randomly from the twelve tracks available, all small enough to fit on the screen without scrolling. There can be up to six racers in each race, and up to five human players can play simultanously. With the power ups it will get quite chaotic! Graphics and sound is ok at best. It's super easy to pick up and play, and most importantly, it's a lot of fun playing with your friends.
