Many many many many many thanks to minotaurus, the maximum Commodore 64 expert (at least in his neighborhood) for creating this longplay and writing some notes, here they are:

Glitches in the background scrolling happens also on the real C64.

The gameplay is simple: you have to travel 10 miles per stage, which allows you to be transported to a new era. In each stage there are certain types of enemies that change for each era you play.
So there are 7 stages to go through before restarting the loop (here called "level" since it increases the difficulty).

After the game restarts at "level 2", the volcano become more active and certain levels are more difficult.
"Level 3" seems to be as difficult as "level 2".

Levels increase until number 11 and then start counting again from 2 (but the difficulty remains the same, so you can consider it an infinite loop).
As you can see at the end of the video, something weird happens when you arrive at level ten and eleven: numbers are replaced with symbols
level 10 = :
level 11 = ;
level 12 = 2 and so on, therefore also 20 becomes :, 21 ; and 22 becomes 2

Notice that the word congratulation is misspelled, as CONGRADULATIONS

This video is part of the videogame endings database, whose goal is to catalogue and create the world's largest archive of videogame endings! (what an humble and not ambitious project :D)
