164These aren't just your normal bears that can growls when there's an enemy. They will jump and slash their way to win wars in this action and platformer-themed game called Bearbarians. Pick an area on the map and win the mission by competing into battles. Control your bear and attack the other bears using different game modes; Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, or Team Survival. You can also command your allies where to defend or attack. You will receive money whether you win or lose, so be sure to visit the shop and buy new weapons and armor for your team.

Overview:
Bearbaria is a peaceful place inhabited by bears. It was until the arrival of enemies that laid waste to Bearbaria. The survivors now gather to rebuild their homes however danger still looms as neighboring countries try to take Bearbaria for their own. You are now tasked into not only protecting Bearbaria but conquering the neighboring areas as well. Command your bears and lead them to victory.
Aesthetics:
Bearbarians uses a nice hand drawn animation mixed with cartoon visuals. The bears look cute but at the same time very menacing. They are fighting for their land so being cute just won’t cut it. The other details like backgrounds and animation are also done well. Then there is the music which is also really good. It sets you in a mood to fight but on a small scale. The overall aesthetics of the game are really good plus there is room for players to customize.
Gameplay:
The game begins with a little tutorial sequence. You can’t skip the tutorial sadly but that’s alright as you can still enjoy it. The players take control of a party of bears. They’re not just your typical bears as they are geared up for battle. The gameplay is that of a battle arena style. They can choose to use four different classes of bears. The goal in each battle is to win the match. The main style or type of battle is for the first team to score the max points needed to win the fight. There are other forms of gameplay like capture the flag but the primary concern is that two teams will be clashing out in each level. The players control their bear of choice with a specific class that they prefer. There are four classes available in the game which includes the Scout, Bruiser, Medic and Mage. The Scout emphasizes on speed, the Bruiser on melee power, the Medic on healing allies and the Mage blasting enemies from afar with magic. During the battle, players can start with their class of choice. The number of allies that the player can have will vary depending on the level. However both teams will have the same number of fighters. The initial class used will partake in the battle. Once your health bar or the enemy’s drops to zero they will die and a score will be awarded to the team. One other way for the player or character to die is by falling down pits. When the player respawns, they can choose to change their class to continue the battle. The supporting characters though don’t get to change their classes as they remain the same. Winning battles unlock more areas for you to battle on. One other interesting aspect of the game is the customization feature. You will have a party of seven bears. When you gain enough gold, you can choose to buy aesthetic features and weapons that you can let your party members use. Make a party that will let you win.
