Beasties Review: Creature Collector RPG Meets Match-3 Puzzle!
0Beasties is a new casual game that merges Creature Collector genre with the Match Three Puzzles. Throughout the game, you have to complete missions such as finding missing people or defeating tough Beasties that stand in your way.
The Match Three puzzle gameplay is unique in two ways. Firstly, both you and your opponent use the same board, which makes it more difficult to line up a good combo. Secondly, the tiles either are direct attacks, or otherwise charge the special abilities based on that creature's puzzle piece. Interestingly, a beastie's ability puzzle piece is not determined by the species as you can find similar beasties of same ability with different puzzle piece requirement.
Overall, the game is a cute casual game, although it does not match the depth and complexity of other creature collector games. The game is already out on Switch, and will be released on Steam on 27th July.
