264Before Ikaruga There Was Dimahoo! Review of Mahou Shoot Em' Ups! | Raizing. With this review of Dimahoo (aka Great Mahou Daisakusen) we have now completed the Mahou Trilogy on this channel! The trilogy consists of Sorcer Striker (Mahou Daisakusen), Kingdom Grand Prix, and Dimahoo! What makes this game famous, besides being generally excellent as many Raizing shmups are, is its claim to fame as being a shmup with a polarity mechanic before Ikaruga. Dimahoo came out a year prior to Treasure's most famous shoot em' up. That being said, in this review I examine the polarity systems of the two games and compare them to one another, is Dimahoo similiar to Ikaruga? Another interesting aspect of this game is that it is on Capcom CPS2 hardware, so it can be easily emulated. It's kinda interesting that it was not on Capcom Arcade Stadium 1 or 2, but that doesn't surprise me either ha. As of right now this game is not availible on switch, ps4, xbox, ps5, or steam. You can play it on Mister, Shmuparch, or other emulators very well though :-) This game sorely needs and M2 shottriggers port though, it would benifit greatly from a custom mode and gadgets. I also don't trust other devs like City Connection with a release like this.
