266Touhou Perfect Cherry Blossom (#7) Review and Analysis | Touhou Quest! The video series that reviews and analyzes all of the mainline Touhou project games continues with Touhou 7, Perfect Cherry Blossom. For those not in the know, Touhou is a Doujin (indie) Shoot Em' Up Series, aka shmup, bullet hell, danmaku, by the famous solo creator ZUN. This installment in the series, Perfect Cherry Blossom was first released for Windows in 2003. Even all these years and titles in the series later however, Touhou 7 is still considered one of the best in the series and a landmark title for fans. Today I am playing a hard mode clear that I got in the game and disucssing things like the art, the music, the visuals, the bullet patterns, the boss fights, relationship with arcade games (like CAVE) and some of the cool effects and tricks ZUN uses in the background. As of right now I believe you can get Touhou on Amazon via discs, or download it from the shrine (probably not ZUN approved) or I've heard the games are making their way onto steam! It would be cool to get console ports of the mainline games, maybe in some sort of collection, but considering ZUN's very light attitude towards marketing the series and doing that sort of thing himself, I think it's much more likely some motivated fan would put together a homebrew or something.
