In this beginners guide quick start video, I explain how to use the in-game voice and text comms channels in Arma 3.
The keyboard bindings to swap between the direct (local proximity), group, faction, command, vehicle & global are the full stop (period) and comma buttons, with / (forward slash) to bring up the text chat box, and you press and hold your CAPS LOCK key to use the push-to-talk audio chat.
When you're in game and trying to communicate, choose the voice or text char channel that matches the color of the name of the person who's voice or text chat you can see on the left-hand side of the screen, and they should be able to hear you and / or read your messages.
