Being A Slacker Rocks
Me picking up on a throwaway joke to make an entire video? You better believe it. Come join me as I explore the idea of slackers and how our popular culture has impacted how we view ourselves, our colleagues and our relationship towards work. I start with a general dig at one of the most wild pieces of advice ever given by Barack Obama and then follow through to Elon Musk's wild management of Twitter. I also take a quick shot a the concept of "Quiet Quitting" because it's total nonsense and I'm sick of people demanding people do more than their contracted work without paying them more/offering better conditions. I also go into the idea of "Scientific Management" or Taylorism and how that's informed our culture/attitude towards work.
If you've got to the description you probably know that I've played a tiny bit of a trick on you with the title and thumbnail and really my intent here is attacking poor management rather than defending slackers, but I stand by the title and the thumbnail. Being a slacker is cool and good, actually.
