ALRIGHT, I've been asked a lot for this, so here you go. It's the armor testing video based on the changes Bungie made to Destiny in the large February PvP update (there's still an upcoming Age of Triumph update, which will likely be the last large PvP change until Destiny 2). Armor values were changed from 10 & up...so is it still worth it to run higher armor builds in Crucible? I did some good old fashioned Destiny Testing to find out.

My findings: Ideally, you can get a little edge over your enemies if you can manage to get to 10 armor. 11 can also provide some slight advantages, but there's not a huge reason to go any higher than that. If you need help figuring out how to calculate your armor level, I put an armor 'cheat sheet' into this vid which you should feel free to use & share.
