94This is the final and most accurate HDR calibration guide I’ll ever create for the PlayStation 5.
The journey has been long, with countless tests, refinements, and comparisons, all to reach the most faithful and true HDR experience possible. If you’ve been following along since the beginning, thank you for being part of this road.
This video is the culmination of everything I’ve learned, and it will give you the most precise settings yet for unlocking the real power of your PS5 in HDR.
We have successfully corrected and fixed:
1. Brightness / Black Level – Making sure dark scenes don’t look washed out or crushed.
2. Contrast / Peak White – Ensuring highlights are bright without clipping detail.
3. Gamma / EOTF tracking – Getting the right curve so midtones look natural.
4. Color Temperature / White Balance – Correcting the “too blue” or “too warm” tone for accuracy.
5. Color Gamut – Making sure colors aren’t oversaturated or dull (BT.709 vs BT.2020).
6. Sharpness – Removing artificial edge enhancement while keeping detail clear.
7. Tone Mapping – Adjusting how HDR highlights are mapped to your display’s capabilities.
8. Input Lag settings – Enabling game mode while still keeping accurate picture.
