Lesson Nine:
Set-up:
Put the bot center stage, turn Show Stun to On, turn Damage and Position Reset on, and Set Damage to 0
Exercise:
9.1
Pick up a sword and practice down light, jump down air, neutral air. You want to connect the down air as close to the center of the hitbox as you can. If you catch the opponent with the outside edges they will bounce out of range of your neutral air.
9.2
Change Set Damage to 50. Practice down light, jump, down air, gravity cancel down light, recovery. This is a massive damage string that cannot be jumped out of.
9.3
Grab a hammer, Set Damage to 0. You can use chase dodge for an easy string of neutral light, chase dodge, side light. This string only works at low damages, but you can continue pressuring after side light.
9.4
Set Damage to 100. Practice following down light, jump, chase dodge, recovery with a side air. This is a damage specific string.
9.5
Practice down light, jump, chase dodge, recovery, pivot down air. This is also a damage dependent string. You will get high damage and put the opponent in a bad position.
These strings serve two purposes. Their best use is punishing an opponent's dodge. Since they cannot jump out it is guaranteed when their dodge is on cooldown. Secondly, you will heavily punish players who aren't willing to blow dodge. This will condition them to dodge at predictable times, or lead to enormous damage over the game if they continue to not dodge.
