Beyond Good and Evil Part 3: A Joy Ride
0So, after getting our camera upgraded and taking pictures of all the animals that I noticed (not sure if I missed anything, maybe some plants but I’m sure we’ll be back one day), we then head out in our little hover-boat/spaceship thingy The ship is a little weird to handle at times and the camera is very odd (it feels as though the ship can be moved with the mouse as well as the keys but, once you stop moving, the mouse only controls the camera so it makes things a little hard to drive; not sure if I will be doing any of the races in the game since they did talk about some sort of competition). Not really sure what exactly it is but, what I do know is that it’s broken down and a pile a poop. Since our ride is utter garbage at doing the one thing it can, we have to go get it repaired which introduces us to the Mechanics (I think they are called something like Mamaago-go) as well as show off all the potential upgrades for the ship. We use the pearls that we’ve been collecting from the pictures albums as well as from the boss fights in order to purchase these upgrades but, for some reason, I don’t think all the upgrades cost 88 pearls (I’m fairly sure that there are 88 pearls to collect but the total price for this all is 81, if my math is correct). It makes me wonder what the last seven pearls would be needed for but I’m guessing they are weapon upgrades or maybe to progress the storyline. We won’t know exactly until we get to that junction so, for right now, let’s just repair our crappy little car and head to meet the mysterious person who is offering us some kind of job.
