This was our final project for the first semester of our Animation I class in high school. We had to create an animatic story that was at least three minutes long.

I spent about two weeks just struggling to come up with a good idea, and just went with a retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk. I made all of the drawings on my iPad with Adobe Draw, and then edited everything together in After Effects.

If you couldn’t tell by the abrupt ending, I wasn’t able to complete the full story. This final video is actually only about half of what it was supposed to be, but I couldn’t get around to it due to time constraints. I do still have all of the original drawings and the unused voice lines, so I’d love to one day make a complete “Director’s Cut” of it.
