First sub 7 and second recorded sub 8 unless Faranth_'s runs that are now lost were faster than I know, but I have no idea. I got one sub 8 (around 7:59, though), but I made a mistake and it was not when I was recording.

This was fast because: I got Compass very very easily, there were no darknesses or serious compass trolls, Bible skipped It Lives!, and the Chest layout was nothing less than amazing.

No loading screen errors. Did a sort of experimental way of killing Death that I thought would be faster.

I entered, uselessly, into a challenge room in Cathedral, but I was praying for Teleport! in order to get a fast chest, but I didn't get that and instead just otherwise got a miraculously fast chest. The Mom fight was sloppy, there was a mis-read on Cathedral, and I entered the Chest incorrectly, but otherwise, it was good. Getting Bible on Depths 1/Caves 2 would have saved 15-20 seconds.

I'm blown away at how fast I got this. I thought it took Faranth_ forever to get something around an 8:20 or around that. I speculate but have no evidence that that might be because he reset solely for instant Epic Fetus + Shovel on Basement 2, which obviously was not required to beat the previous world record. Knowing the potential of other lucky occurrences kept me from resetting like that, and that netted me this run. I get around 3-6 Epic Fetus run attempts per hour of running this, on average, which allowed for there to be eventually a good combination of events to get a world record run.

All good carries are: Shovel, Teleport!, telepills/Hermit/Stars late game + luck, Emperor, getting good XLs, Bible, and otherwise getting amazing layouts and a bonus would be in secret room shortcuts.

I will probably go for Shovel + Habit/Scapular to get a spectacular Sheol WR as well, but in those attempts I may get an even faster run for Chest or Sheol unexpectedly with a different strategy. In the run before this, I think it was, I had a chance at getting that exact combo (walked into a shop with enough money while already having Shovel + Scapular). Shovel with enough XLs or maybe Joker in Womb XL could of course get a very good record, as well.
