Biofunctional Textiles: Enhancing Properties with β-Cyclodextrins | Cotton fiber properties
Advancements in Biofunctional Textiles: Exploring the Role of β-Cyclodextrins in Enhancing Textile Properties
Layman Abstract : This study explores how cyclodextrins, a type of molecule commonly used in medicine, can be applied to cotton textiles (Cotton fiber properties) to give them new properties. Cotton is already a widely used fiber due to its strength, comfort, and ability to absorb moisture. By bonding cyclodextrins to cotton, fabrics can be enhanced with antibacterial, antimicrobial, or long-lasting fragrance properties. This innovation could lead to textiles (Biofunctional Textiles) that not only provide comfort but also serve as cosmetic or functional materials, releasing beneficial substances over time.
