Biomutant PC Gameplay | 17 Minutes Of Squirrel Cannons And Robot Fists
Biomutant was my favourite demo at Gamescom - 20 minutes stuffed with everything from squirrel cannons to robot fists. In this new Biomutant PC Gameplay Matthew breaks down everything he saw and was told by developers of this open world adventure.
You play as a rodent thing; what kind of thing depends entirely on what stats you pump into his tiny body. Are you a big-brained super genius or a lithe kung fu master? Our gameplay shows character creation and how it rewrites your DNA. In our Biomutant preview we also take a look at the random biomes that appear across the open world - in each person’s game the world will never quite be the same, with some people finding hot zones where others get radiation or biohazards. It’ll even change the boss fights you find in those areas.
We also try out some new Biomutant powers and attacks, from the Klonk Fist that punches enemies down into the soil and smashes doors into metallic mush, to the mucus bubble that lets our hero bounce over gaps and gather up goons on its sticky outside. Biomutant combat is wonderfully slick, as the gameplay shows, with moves weaving into dazzling combos that are part Devil May Cry, part Ratchet and Clank. It’s a game that borrows from all kinds of sources, but it makes for a delicious ideas stew.
Our Biomutant impressions also cover the new mech and boss fights - when you enter a dead zone you need the mech suit to survive the lack of oxygen, but it also helps fight the giant monster that is eating the roots of the tree of life. We show a Biomutant boss fight that takes as around and inside the vile creature and also get to test a squirrel cannon, which is as cruel - and cool - as it sounds. I was going to compare Biomutant to Zelda, but I don’t think Link would sacrifice a squirrel to save his own skin. That’s not really his deal.
If you have any questions after watching our Biomutant PC gameplay do let us know in the comments and I will try and answer them. Would you like to see further Biomutant previews on Rock Paper Shotgun in future? Again let us know. And if you enjoyed this video, why not subscribe to the channel to hear more about games like this. We cover any game that appears on PC, so we hope you’ll watch our other videos. If you managed to read all that, well done. Hopefully see you soon. Bye!
